What is Vision 2020?

Vision 2020 is a daring $1.4 billion strategy with a $360 million philanthropic goal to build on the core strengths of Loma Linda University Health as it pursues new discoveries and develops strategies for a healthier, whole tomorrow. Vision 2020 will combine the latest research and best health care practices with comprehensive prevention and wholeness.

What are the philanthropy priorities?

Vision 2020 will require $360 Million in philanthropy to achieve our bold vision for the future. We have identified the following philanthropic priorities. Learn more about each one.

  • Clinical Care $225 Million
    • New Adult Hospital, Expanded Children's Hospital, Enhanced Proton Treatment & Research Center, Enhanced International Heart Institute
  • Education and Research $120 Million
    • Scholarships, Faculty Development, Research Discoveries, New Educational Approaches, New Research Laboratories, Research Program Endowments

Will there be naming opportunities for giving?

Yes, there are wonderful ways to honor a loved one or leave your legacy by naming a space or room that is meaningful to you. In the new adult hospital, new Children's Hospital tower, research building or Wholeness Institute there are areas where we would be pleased to provide a recognition opportunity. How can I get involved?

You can get involved by being an advocate and sharing your personal Loma Linda University Health story. Your advocacy can inspire others to support Vision 2020. You can also attend Vision 2020 events and volunteer to host a Vision 2020 event in your community. In addition, you can make your own gift to Vision 2020 and support this transformational campaign through a meaningful gift of outright cash or through a planned or estate gift. Why are you building a new hospital?

A new adult hospital and expanded Children’s Hospital will enhance our ability to provide a transformational healing environment for our patients and a new cutting-edge environment for our students to learn in, as well as meet the State of California seismic requirements.

When will the new hospital break ground?

Ground breaking on the new hospital took place on May 22, 2016.
