Join Ulysses by Donating Your Celebration
Ulysses stopped by the Loma Linda University Children's Hospital and donated over $1600 that he had collected at his 8th birthday party in honor of his friend that is being treated here for brain cancer.
While Ulysses was presenting his donation in the hospital lobby, Enoch Montalban, Nurse Manager for Radiation Therapy happened to be walking by and was impressed by Ulysses' donation. He immediately invited Ulysses and his parents through a tour of the Proton Therapy Department, where adults, and children, just like Ulysses' friend are being treated for cancer. At the end of the tour, staff members from the Proton Therapy department presented Ulysses with the James S. Slater Proton medallion for his kindness, and doing his part to help other children.
When asked by he chooses to donate his birthday money Ulysses quickly answers " I want to help people! Life is more important than toys and gifts."
